Beatriz was born one hot July in Madrid. Ever since she was a girl, she’s found refuge in words. She was making up stories before she learnt to read. But her devotion to reading is nothing compared to her true passion; writing.
When it came to choosing a career path, journalism was the clear choice. At 23, already a photographer, she set out as a travel reporter for a tourism magazine. At the same time, she was undertaking courses in Creative Writing. A restless nomad, Bea also specialised in Southern Countries and International Information, and spent a few months in Rome working for the UN. Perhaps this was because she threw a coin (or several) in the Trevi fountain… Since then, whenever her work allows, she always returns to the Eternal City.
And so, always on the go, she ended up working as a freelance, and writing whatever she was asked – from personalised children’s stories to press releases about technology. But, inevitably, the time came when she needed to let her boundless imagination loose, and start to publish her micro and short stories.
Her goal? To write a book.
Amid all this toing and froing she had the good fortune to find Picnic. She stepped into the office and it was love at first sight. She knew she wanted to spend the next few months there. Surrounded by a team, on a professional and personal level, she is making the most of each and every minute in this little world looking out over the Retiro park.
