Rita was born in Madrid. Although she has lived most of her life in the city, many of her fondest memories lie with her many cousins in the Extremadura countryside, at Wisconsin High School where she studied the first year of her Spanish Baccalaureate, and in the summer trips she took across Europe together with her family when she was little and later with her friends.
Two fundamental motivations driving Rita through her professional life have been her yearning to learn and her desire to improve. She received her juridicial and business training (ICADE 2003 and Georgetown University 2005) but then, having begun her career in market value law, she realised she did not want to follow that path, and decided to head in the direction of marketing and communication. In 2007 she started at one of the best schools; P&G. Initially working as a media and communication executive and later passing into brand management, undertaking diverse positions before finally directing the clothing care category for Spain and Portugal.
In 2014, plagued by modern-day family conciliation and organisation problems, she decided to give her career a new turn and follow a dream: helping families and young people organise themselves. A few months later, several partners joined the project, and in January 2015 they launched Dommuss: an app to help handle day-to-day life for families and couples.
Her strategic vision, ability to analyse and synthesise, and capacity for organisation, were clearly strong points allowing Rita to combine management of her startup with strategic marketing consultancy in specific projects, which helped her keep growing and learning. In that same vein, she has been collaborating with Picnic since Autumn 2015.
