Buenos Aires office
Juana is curious, observant, and versatile.
She was born in Buenos Aires. As a girl she was interested in Arts and Human Sciences, leading her to study Psychology and Acting. Then she discovered Cinema, the art form capable of encompassing all her diverse interests. Once she completed her degree in Cinematographic Directing at the University of Cinema in Argentina (FUC), in 2012 she travelled to New York. Caught by the dynamism, people, and wealth of culture the city had to offer, she decided to stay. She looked for work as a waitress and continued studying, focusing on Directing and working with Actors.
In 2013 she returned to Buenos Aires and started working in Advertising as Assistant Director for production companies such as Rebolución and Fight Films. She also wrote and directed her first fictional short at the same time, which then allowed her to travel and get to know different production methods.
In 2014 she taught herself skills in post-production, and left the big advertising production agencies to begin her first jobs as a Director, or rather, as an Audiovisual Filmmaker, given that she was adapting according to different production schemes (be it editing, filming, directing, working with actors, assembling work teams, or all of the above simultaneously). Each job is different, and that’s what she liked most about her work.
She created various videos for local brands including for fashion, music bands, and diverse businesses.
In 2015, at the age of 26, Picnic invited her to collaborate in the creation of brand videos for different companies.
