Max was born in a small village in the far north of Germany. He has always had a natural longing to explore unknown territories, and started travelling the world as a teenager. He lived for a while in the USA, Mexico, and Spain.
After finishing his Bachelor’s degree in linguistics and anthropology, his passion for music led him to a job at wavemusic, a Hamburg-based company acting partly as a record label and partly as a music marketing agency. At first, he spent his time archiving CDs, before climbing the ladder to become Label Manager and Project Leader, devoted to creating the most wonderful CD compilations on earth and managing music productions and events for brands such as Zara Home, Land Rover and IWC. Almost inevitably, he ended up DJing for events and private parties.
Meanwhile, he didn’t want to fall short on his education, so back he went to university to obtain an MBA in International Management and Marketing. Whilst there, he also developed a special interest in Corporate Social Responsibility.
At the age of 35, with life already sailing in safe waters, he fell in love with a girl from Argentina and left everything to live with her in Buenos Aires. Four years later, he is the proud father of two binational kids, drinks mate, and barbecues like a real Argentinian gaucho.
To his delight, life in Argentina is also full of adventures: for the performance biennale BP.15 he travelled to Cuba to interview artist Tania Bruguera; he ran the Buenos Aires marathon in 2017; and appeared as an extra in a movie production with Diego Peretti.
Nonetheless, he feels that Picnic will be the biggest challenge of all, and also the perfect place to satisfy his restlessness.
